Tier 2 Desktop Support Technician

Salary: market related based on experience

Location: IP Dimension HQ (Weekly client visits)

Must have valid driver’s license and own transport

Office Hours: 08H00 to 17H00 – Monday to Friday



• 1st, 2nd line support to any IT related desktop queries

• Basic administration on client servers

Personality Attributes:

• Good communicator (English & Afrikaans)

• Self-starter

Essential Skills & Knowledge:

• Microsoft stack and technologies (On-prem and Cloud)

    o Client Operating Systems & Applications (Extensive understanding)

    o Windows Server Operating Systems & Technologies (Basic administration)

    o Active Directory (Basic administration)

    o Group Policy (Basic administration)

    o DNS & DHCP (Good understanding)

    o Office 365 Hosted Exchange (Basic administration)

    o Exchange On-prem (Basic knowledge)

    o WSUS (Basic administration)

• Corporate antivirus solutions

• Corporate backup solutions

• Network Infrastructure (Troubleshooting)

• File and print server administration

• Processes and procedures (Design & Implementation)

• Network documentation (Design & Implementation)

• Ability to operate tools, components and peripheral accessories

• Strong ability to work in a team

• Mobile device technologies

• Service Desk (Autotask)

• Service excellence and communication (Priority 1)

Qualifications & Experience:

• Matric (Grade 12)

• A+ & N+

• Industry certifications (Specifically Microsoft and the like)

• 2 years or more in a Tier 2 support role
